Mark de Clive-Lowe brought his ever popular Jazz mash-up show “Church” to NYC this past Saturday during the CMJ Festival week. “Church” is a live jazz show with a combination of straight ahead jazz, singers, rappers and DJ sets, in short it’s a party. Creative Beach was in the place to be and here’s a snippet of how Mark de Clive-Lowe does “Church”.

Revive Da Live started as a music showcase and while they continue the tradition they started, they have evolved into much more. Revive Da Live is now a part of the Okayplayer family through their online journal The Revivialist. I started Jazz Sunday because jazz has always been a part of my life and Sunday was always that day that it seemed to permeate my life. Although it was always in the background and as I got older I started to dig deeper and continue to expand. Jazz is music but it seems to have fallen into the 50 and older category which is completely false! It’s just that there are not that many outlets for jazz that reaches a younger audience who want to see what they know and love reflected amongst their peers. So support Jazz Sunday at Creative Beach, Support The Revivalist and let’s keep it going.
