Here is more free music goodness to start your 2012. Kano dropped this mixtape at exactly 1pm GMT ehhhh early in the morning EST so I hope everyone is up now(if not I completely understand) but whenever you read this, hey just press download. According to the folks over at Soulculture we’re going to see a lot of Kano in 2012 and looking at the Creative Beach 2012 year ahead hopefully it will work out and the U.S. will see more of Kano and the UK scene in general. Ok now that you’re in the right frame of mind let me introduce the video/song of the moment. Kano and Ghetts need no introduction because if you check Creative Beach you already know. One thing that does need to be mentioned is that Kano and Mikey J put together an Ep that has been in the works for the past month or so. Kano and Producer Mikey J have released a track almost every week for Kano’s EP “Not for the A List” which culminated in the Kano and Ghetts song that is being highlighted “House of Pain”. The song “House of Pain” is about the road that their careers have traveled and the sub-genre Grime that they have each brought to the forefront and still carry with them. So, check out the 7 plus minute track and enter Kano and Ghetts “House of Pain”.

Ok imagine you were sitting at dinner talking about what would be one of the best, most outlandish and coolest events someone could put together. You are eating, drinking and someone says ‘what if we threw a party on every pod of the London Eye, got 30 artists to perform and invite people to come along.Oh! they get free tickets which we just hand out like Willie Wonka’. Everyone stops, thinks about it and then starts laughing ‘yeah that would be dope’ someone shouts out and then the conversation moves on.
…Well that event actually took place this past Thursday in London as part of the Red Bull Music Academy World Tour. Here is some video of the event featuring a freestyle from Kano and a glimpse of the party from Lunice. Stay tuned for more info on this event. Yep, there is more goodness to come.
