I could keep saying HNY over and over but this time Happy New Year. I think this is going to be my official anthem at least for a while. Toronto MC Tona just put this one out featuring fellow Canadian Eternia and Brooklyn reppin’ MC Torae. This has that turn it up celebratory boom bap sound. I’m gonna raise my ipod in the air and toast to everyone, this is day 2 of 2012 and if artists keep this up I’m gonna need to hire some extra help. Let’s get into the music!
It’s been a while woooo time flies but this was where I was introduced to Tona
Drake, The Weeknd? nawwwww The Kid Famous is probably one of Toronto’s next MC’s to ’blow up’ and reach internet masses. Famous has been grinding since 2008 when he wondered why MC’s weren’t getting shine and he lived in the 4th biggest city. Now the kid that goes by the name famous is ready to make his next move and he’s preppin’ with a world wind EPK check it out.
This is a party jam for real! Toronto…2012, I see you.
This is definitely a welcome surprise! Kardinal Offishall just released his latest single. Although, Kardinal borrowed from himself to spring forward this summer banger entitled ‘Ol Time Killin’ Part 2(Anywhere) The first ‘Ol’ Time Killin’ was a hit song in the very early 2000′s and really put Kardinal’s name on the map in the states. I advise you all to click on play and even download this song ASAP. Summer runs until September 21st so you still have time to enjoy this with the windows downs and speakers turned up.
Famous is an MC Creative Beach has known about for a long time now. In another incarnation of Creative Beach before it was Creative Beach, I found out about Famous via the interweb and the rest is history. The Toronto MC is not a name that you may know but I’m still trying to figure out why? Anyway, you will know now. MC’s have been taking the flight across the Atlantic since hip hop hit the airwaves but London and the UK in general seems to be a hip hop hotbed in recent years with a consistent stream of talent traveling to and from the island nation and Famous is no exception. Here is the video for his single Slow Down ft. Rich Kidd. -DeVon
Need more history on Famous, of course I’m here to help
