What up, what up…I hope everyone is having a great Sunday. To get the week started Creative Beach is going to bring you music and more music. First up is a great DJ and Creative Beach affiliate Miss DJ Gemz coming straight out of Maryland and reppin for the DMV. She put out a mixtape that is aptly titled for this time of year called “March Madness Mixtape”. The mixtape is upbeat it will either get you ready for a game or get you up and dancing(whatever situation fits). Since basketball is a definitely a part of me and definitely a part of Miss DJ Gemz(not sure if she wants to see me on the court) the video promo for the mixtape is 100% on point. I won’t delay, I’ll let famed Player and now coach Dawn Staley let you know what to do.
Good Morning everyone! Let’s keep it hip hop(well CB always does) DMV Spotlight artist and ill rhyme sayer Chosen the Kid sent over this quick freestyle over a super smooth beat. Yeah you all can get up and make breakfast now.
This is a brand new feature that is being added to Creative Beach. Maryland is home and the region has been highlighted and put on the map more and more in the last few years but there is so much more talent that is bubbling just below the surface and deserve to have the spotlight shown on them. You’ll see features periodically on the new talent coming from this region now and into the near future. First up is an MC that goes by the name of Chosen the Kid, hailing from Maryland’s Eastern Shore and now calling the D.C. metro home Chosen the Kid is starting to put out more content and make himself known to the public. The song ”Drinkin’(Me and my Bottle) talks about a daily struggle and a very real reality for so many . Check Below, watch and listen to Chosen the kid “Drinkin’ “(Me and My Bottle).
Oddisee has always been a focused Producer and MC. While out in Europe the Mello Music Group put together this video and I must say I was impressed after I first watched it. If you do not have Rock Creek Park, make sure you support, the song “For Certain” is definitely a great selling point for the album because it’s a banger! Of course, press play and enjoy!
This is an intro from the Mello Music Group:
Oddisee just finished up touring Europe with Apollo Brown & The Left and is headed back stateside shortly. In the meantime,Oddisee met up with ZBS studio’s Tomasz Cibulla and Wojciech Drozdz, the directing & editing duo responsible for Oddisee’s “The Blooming’ video, when he was in Brussels for a concert at London Calling. The result was a short clip realized during the concert and mixed with the new Oddisee song ‘For Certain’.
Tabi Bonney just released the video for his ski beatz hit single(yep I said so) “Parachute” The video follows the song perfectly and it’s the quality well crafted and fun video that we have come to expect from Tabi. The Summer Years is a great album(I was jammin’ to it in the car today) and Tabi just makes music that fits him. It is officially fall but take it back a couple of weeks and experience summer or keep summer moving continuously. Press play and Enjoy!
Ra The MC is a DMV based artist that has been controlling the mic for several years now. From MTV to BET, the DMV to NYC and points beyond Ra is a seasoned artist that is poised to become well known world wide. TheBeeShine.com recently caught up with Ra and did a quick interview. If you don’t know Ra The MC or want to catch up on what’s been happening, press play. Oh! The song at the end of video is fire!
The Black Sunn & 810 are two MC’s I am happy to present to the world. I sometimes stroll these internet streets to get out an about and see what’s going. As much as Creative Beach covers the world it always starts at home. Home for Creative Beach is Maryland, “the DMV” region and The Black Sunn and 810 hail from Baltimore which is definitely a heavily underrated hip hop city. Washington, D.C. has received much more exposure but the largest city in the “M” part of the region is making more noise and making the region as a whole stronger. I first saw The Black Sunn and 810 open for Pac Div last year and I was pleased because all of the opening acts were solid and The Black Sunn and 810 stood out. Here is a single that many can relate to, while it is championing their musical focus, it’s also pushing the fact that well…”I don’t care” about B.S. People take note, and press play on the official video for the single “I Don’t Care”.
Happy Sunday…well Creative Beach has something special for this Jazz Sunday. Shaolin Jazz, which was actually the first ever Creativebeach.net post is seeking to do a “graphic remix” of the Shaolin Jazz album cover and they asked if Creative Beach wanted to highlight this great opportunity.
