Common is everywhere these days(literally) and seems to be in full promo mode on all fronts, whether for his book One Day It’ll All Make Sense or for his upcoming album The Dreamer, The Believer. On this go round Common presented his musical side with the release of his new single Blue Sky. Last Saturday Creative Beach headed out to the Baltimore Book Festival to hear Common discuss his new memoir One Day It’ll All Make Sense. The camera is alway in tow, snapped some video and this is how it turned out.
Saturday’s can be chill when it comes ‘something new’ but this being a holiday weekend I guess it’s time for gifts because Nas released the full length version of Common’s song Ghetto Dreams which will be featured on Common’s upcoming album The Dreamer, The Believer set for a November release date. Common’s name is probably one the more highly ranked names on google the last few days because the pseudo controversy(let’s call it what it is) surrounding his invitation to read at Michelle Obama’s White House Poetry Night program. The online hip hop community immediately blasted the implications that were thrown at Common and being called a “vile rapper” as well as late night shows, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. I think Bill Maher will have a turn on his show tomorrow as well. I could go on but Common’s appearance at the White House was far from controversial so let’s get to why you stopped pass CB, Sit back and Enjoy. Oh! This sounds like a possible song…what do you all think?
