My Face When App For iPhone Launch

Posted by on Tuesday, 15 May, 2012

This is truly a pleasure! The wonderful folks over at MyFaceWhenApp contacted Creative Beach about the launch of this soon to be addictive and highly downloaded app. The App is scheduled to be released in an App Store near you tomorrow but that is pending. GIF’s have been around for a long time, if you remember when you were scrolling through message boards(yes think pre-everything social media) and a few people had some image on repeat, I know more than a few were wondering ‘how did they do that?’ Well MyFaceWhenApp takes the GIF and puts it in your hands literally! You can create your own GIF, share it, tweet it, email or press send, oh! did I mention this is done within seconds. Check out what the creators of MyFaceWhenApp have to say about it:

“If a picture is worth a thousand words, then how many words is an animated gif worth? With MyFaceWhen™, you will be able to record or upload videos, and then transform them into a high resolution, textable gif to share with your family and friends.

In seconds, MyFaceWhen allows you to record and trim your video then send it off in a text message. You can create a new video, use an existing one or even upload clips from your favorite TV shows and movies!”

Make sure to check the app store tomorrow but follow @Creativebeach on twitter or check the page because Creative Beach will tweet when the app goes live.

Stop SOPA

Posted by on Wednesday, 18 January, 2012

Remember what happened to the Original Onsmash.com? Remember when DJ Drama was raided for selling Mixtapes? If you like reading music blogs/websites and want to engage in the online community, educate yourself on #SOPA and the protect IP act. http://sopablackout.org (There are no tags for this because if these laws pass it might be hard blogs/websites in the U.S. to operate, so in short this site or many others might not exist.)

Google and Bing Highlight Hip Hop with Mick Boogie x Terry Urban and Jamal Edwards

Posted by on Monday, 29 August, 2011

Hip hop and advertising are almost synonymous at this point. There are brands that have become staples and were taken to new heights because of hip hop influence, some of the brands that come to mind are Nike, Adidas and Timberland. We are well into the digital age and of course hip hop has been along for every step but as everything digital has been infused into our daily lives hip hop is being infused into the tech world; as a website publisher ‘hits’ and views are very important. Everybody uses search engines and of course hip hop is constantly being searched. So the search engine Mayweather and Pacquiao’s are highlighting some major players when it comes to hip hop and the Internet. You all let me know what you think? Is this the Mayweather/Pacquiao match we’ve been waiting for, well metaphorically speaking. Press Play and in the wonderful words of Mills Lane ‘let’s get it on’.

Bing linked up with Mick Boogie and Terry Urban as the duo talk about their brand new Mixtape website which could have a significant impact online, press play and check it out.

Here is a young and rapidly rising star named Jamal Edwards who has taken the hip hop scene in United Kingdom and did an Usain Bolt 100 meter sprint with it(yeah I saw the DQ at World Championships) Jamal Edwards is the founder of the extremely popular site SBTV. Jamal was highlighted by Google UK for a Google Chrome Ad that says it all because he is truly just getting started.

Spotify Digital Music Service U.S. Launch

Posted by on Friday, 15 July, 2011

Move over Steve Jobs…it’s not the British invasion we need to be worried but rather, the Swedish? The Swedish digital music company Spotify allows you to stream music for a limited amount of hours or for a small, small price to take it up a notch like Emeril and get unlimited service. If you’re thinking Pandora…nawwww more like itunes without the credit card, paying for stuff. Spotify has 15 million songs and has been doing the dang thang in Europe for quite a while. Yes my fellow Americans we are finally in the know and Spotify is stateside but! …you do need to sign up for an invite(I guess they’ve been hanging out with the people at google) Anyway this looks to be a great move, I’m in and I know more than a few MC’s and singers will be glad to have their music played on Spotify. Sooooo if you wanna get down, head on over and sign up and check out the intro vid.

Google+ Predictions and Analysis

Google launches Google+, a quasi-Facebook competitor

Well folks it is finally here! Ok sort of , Google has finally unveiled the Facebook killer project we’ve been waiting for, a social network from the company that seems to be pushing to be the real life Pinky and the Brain. Although maybe not take over the world but at least the virtual one. Unfortunately I don’t have my Cnet credentials just yet and missed the invitation to join but I did sign up for the wait list.

Personally I am looking forward to signing up for Google+ and here is why:

Google has been around for roughly 12 going on 13 years and in 2004 when gmail launched I was like g–what!? although I quickly found out and when google launched google wave I was excited and it had a lot of promise but honestly I didn’t see how it was going work because I really didn’t know who was suppose to use. Then Google Buzz was launched and I was like BUZZ!? SMH. The problem with google’s previous social networking attempts was their insistence on using gmail as the catalyst.

Although with Google+ I feel they have taken the promise of google wave and made it a true social network. I read reviews and I’ve taken the online tour, I like the look of google+ and I feel that it’s idea and its pending impact is understated. Google+ is all about “circles” or groups and as a social network  it is stepping away from the “me” format and focusing on “us”. In talking about the format, all of the major social networks rely on ‘your personal profile and you putting out information’ Google+ relies on connecting like minded people and sharing information with that specific group of people as opposed to sharing with everyone. Googles choice of words such as “huddle” and the “hangout” also emphasis the group. Another idea that google has implemented with Google+ is the video chat. Yes we all know about skype and now Oovoo but those platforms are not connected within a social network and even the video chat is geared around groups allowing up to 10 people to join in.

The internet is buzzing(no pun intended) with the idea of google challenging facebook but I don’t think that will happen at least not for a while. When gmail was launched, hotmail and yahoo were top choices but google proved to be very user friendly and engaging and continue to build to what it is today. People aren’t going to jump and leave facebook is mass but I think google has a solid format with its social network but people will join. I have to speak for the people in my field, that being online writers, bloggers and people in and around the music industry, I feel  they will be drawn to it because google is encouraging collaboration and this industry is all about that. I can see Google+ being very useful for business interactions of all kinds as well as high school and college kids. Social networks have been around since the late 90′s and it is a part of life now but people want a filter, something that is more intimate that facebook and even twitter and Google+ taps into that. I can’t wait to use it.  If you want to sign up and take the tour, check out Google+ on your own.
