Hey young world, good morning east coast, good morning to the rest of America and good afternoon to much of the world. The Juste Debout World Finals are today. I remember when there wasn’t internet and if you had it, you got this reaction “FOR REAL!!?” Well it’s 2012 and the French Channel “Canal Street” are doing a live stream of the Juste Debout world finals which are going to take place at the Bercy in Paris in a little over 4 hours at 3pm EST(so check back just before 3pm ish there is a countdown clock on their site). This will be updated on twitter to remind everyone so check the Creative Beach twitter feed because I know more than a few on the east coast are in church, sleep or just making breakfast…the west coast, if you’re up I applaud you.

Happy Saturday everyone! For the past few months Creative Beach has been keeping up with Parisian hip hop dancer Laura(aka Nala) who is a part of the Criminalz Crew/Undercover Crew and dances with the all female Swaggers Crew. To start the year off, Global Nomads productions put together this documentary of Laura the teacher as they set in on one of her classes. Oh! Did I mention Laura is only 17, yes she teaches dance classes at the Juste Debout school in Paris. Did I mention she’s only 17!? Laura has quite a promising career ahead of her, her passion for her craft is evident in this documentary and not to mention a great video to get your dance on(forget Zumba people). Juste Debout is in the midst of qualifying for the 2012 finals in March that will be held in Paris. Yes the new dance section of Creative Beach has been very heavy on France but the whole world is involved and this time let’s take it to Japan. This video is a show case to let you see what the judges can do. After watching the video you all will see just why they are THE JUDGES. All of the Juste Debout styles are represented. Continuing on as Creative Beach follows the world wide hip hop dance scene here is a recap of the 2011 Juste Debout International dance competition. Juste Debout or “Just Stand-up” was founded in 2001 in Paris, France and had its 10 year anniversary earlier this year. The French Channel “Canal Street” did a half an hour documentary on the 10th anniversary which of course is posted for your viewing pleasure. The documentary takes an in depth look at the foundation of Juste Debout as it talks to its founder Bruce Ykanji, past and present participates, those in attendance and notable dancers in the hip hop dance scene. Creative Beach will not be back in full form until January 1st but there will be periodic updates through the end of the year. So, this is just some insight into some of what CB will be covering in 2012 so get caught up or get in the know with Juste Debout. Oh! Being a Maryland based outlet, house music is embedded in Creative Beach’s DNA. Check out the USA 2011″Pre-selection” House music dance final in NYC. This is definitely one to watch!

To end your Sunday on an upbeat tip Creative Beach has some DOPE, super ill(note the old school slang) dance battles for you all. Of course CB hit you all with the introduction to the French dancer Laura Nala a couple weeks ago well here is some more of her dance skills as well as much much more. Laura aka Nala is an up and coming dancer in the Criminalz dance crew out of Paris, France. She’s well known in the local Parisian hip hop dance scene and has quite an online following(check the youtube hits). I’ve been in a story telling mode lately, so here’s another one. I’ve always been into hip hop dance videos and one of my favorite outlets is Yakfilms, so I was cruising the interweb autobahn ‘doin’ a buck and change’, came across Miss Laura and well now you all are in the know too. Being as though Laura is still very young, I think she has a bright future and we’ll be seeing a lot more of her now and for a while. Alright story time over, check out the video. Trust she’s dope!
