China Moses is all American although she just happened to grow up in Paris. Her mother the famed Dee Dee Bridgewater, a Jazz singer moved the family to Paris when China was just 8. Following in her mother’s footsteps of sorts, China Moses released her first album in the late 90’s and has been pushing forward ever since. I have known about China Moses’ music for a while but I was fortunate to catch a segment on Al Jazeera America a few months ago. The segment is wonderfully done and gives you an in depth look at China Moses life and her music in such a short 10 minute clip.
Here is one the latest songs from China Moses, she does a Jazz remake of Missy Elliots ‘I Can’t Stand the Rain’
